A Clinical Study on the Blunt Abdominal Trauma

Abstract
The results summarized from the clinical study on the 82 patients with blunt abdominal trauma,
seen at the Pusan National University Hospital during the period from June 1963 to June 1969,
are as follow:
1. The incidence of blut abdominal trauma was predominantly high in the male youth.
2. The organ in order to involved frequency was small bowel(26.0%), speen(20.2%), kindney.
(16.0%) and liver(15.1%).
The predominant injuries were of the solid abdominal organs.
Of the total patients 54 patiens (65.8%) were associated with injuries other than the involved
organ.
3. Of the total patients 22 patients (25%) were treated conservatively while the 60 patients
(75%) were surgically and in the latter postoperative complications developed in 24 patients(40%).
4. Patients with blunt abdominal trauma presented diagnosis problems, aided sometimes
by clinical signs, roentroentgenogram abdominal tapping and complete blood counting.
